WHAT IS THE PIER
Collaboration unlocks complexity.
The PIER (Port Innovation, Engagement, and Research) is a global centre of excellence for innovation and collaboration in transportation, supply chain and port logistics, management, and development. In The PIER we convene partners, stakeholders, researchers, and entrepreneurs dedicated to tackling wicked industry problems within three areas of focus.
Innovate port operations and transform from being an “Efficient Port” to becoming “An Efficient Supply Chain and Logistics Channel”.
Improve communication, collaboration and resilience of the Port and its relationship with the city, and carefully consider the social, economic and environmental impact of its operations on the city.
Working closely with regulatory partners to reduce policy barriers in maritime innovation and increase funding for start-ups and entrepreneurs.
The PIER is the enabler of collaboration amongst global partners within marine transportation, supply chain and logistics.
The purpose of this collaboration is to solve large global industry problems that leads to a more resilient supply chain and interconnected port cities.
